Wellborn Bathroom Remodeling: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
Wellborn bathroom remodeling in Ventura typically costs between $9,000 and $28,000 installed, depending on whether you’re replacing a single vanity or gutting the entire room down to studs. We stock Wellborn-compatible cabinet parts, drawer glides, hinges, and door fronts and can usually match your existing finish within a week. Most Ventura homeowners call us after a cabinet door has warped, a drawer glide has snapped, or the finish on a Wellborn vanity has started lifting near the shower.
The phone call usually starts the same way: a drawer that won’t close, a door that hangs crooked, or a soft-close hinge that slams now instead of gliding. Sometimes it’s a bigger problem: water has wicked into the toe kick under a sink base, or a teenager yanked a pull hard enough to crack the door front. The fix is rarely the whole bathroom. It’s usually the right part, matched to the right Wellborn series, installed by someone who knows which screws go where.
Which Wellborn Models This Applies To

Wellborn builds bathroom vanities and cabinet systems across several product lines, and not every part fits every line. The Premier, Estate, and Select series have different door profiles, different finish codes, and different drawer box construction. A hinge plate from an Estate cabinet will not sit flush on a Premier door frame. We see this mix-up regularly in Ventura condos and older Midtown homes where someone replaced one door with whatever the hardware store had on the shelf, and now nothing lines up.
Here’s how we identify the right part: open the door and look for a small white or foil label on the inside of the cabinet box or on the back of the door itself. Wellborn stamps a manufacturing code that starts with the series initial. If the label is gone, measure the door width and thickness in sixteenths, then look at the hinge cup diameter: Wellborn uses 35mm hinge cups on most lines from the last fifteen years, but a few custom-order vanities from the early 2000s used 26mm cups, and those parts are no longer in production. For those, we machine a quality aftermarket match instead of making you wait on a discontinued part.
We stock OEM Wellborn hinges, glides, and drawer slides on the truck, plus a line of aftermarket soft-close units that fit Wellborn’s standard 35mm boring. Cambria, Silestone, and KraftMaid parts are also in our inventory for mixed-brand bathrooms, which matter more than you’d think: a Wellborn vanity with a Cambria top needs a different sink-mount bracket than a stock ceramic top, and we carry both.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Wellborn Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- The drawer closes with a thud instead of a glide. Wellborn soft-close slides use a small nylon catch that cracks after roughly eight to ten years of daily use. The drawer still works, but the soft-close feature is gone, and the thud wears the drawer box joints faster.
- A door hangs slightly low or scrapes the cabinet face. This usually means the hinge has worn at the pivot or the mounting plate has pulled loose from the face frame. The fix is sometimes a new hinge, sometimes a plate repositioning, and occasionally a door-front realignment, which takes about twenty minutes.
- The finish is lifting or bubbling near the vanity top edge. Water splashing over the sink or condensation from a shower builds up at the top edge of Wellborn’s thermofoil doors. Once moisture gets behind the foil, the only real repair is replacing the door front. Matching the finish matters more than matching the brand name.
- The toe kick is swollen or discolored. That’s the first place bathroom water travels. A swollen toe kick usually means the vanity’s bottom edge has been sitting in dampness for months. We replace the toe kick and check the cabinet box floor before anything else.
- The sink base floor is soft under the plumbing. A slow supply line leak or a condensation drip above the base cabinet rots the floor of the Wellborn sink base from the inside. If you can press a screwdriver into the cabinet floor, the part has already structurally failed and needs replacement.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full Wellborn bathroom remodel in Ventura, the installed price runs $9,000 to $28,000. A single Wellborn vanity replacement, including removal, new vanity, faucet hookup, and haul-away, typically falls between $2,500 and $6,000. Replacing just cabinet doors, drawer fronts, or hardware usually runs $800 to $3,000, depending on how many pieces and whether we’re matching an existing finish or refinishing the entire cabinet box.
The written price you get from Elmstead Remodeling Ventura includes the parts, the labor, the finish matching, and the cleanup. It does not grow after the crew arrives. That’s the Cedarwell Care Promise, and we put every line of it in writing before the first board moves. I learned at L.A. Trade-Tech to write the scope down before the work starts, and it’s saved more Ventura families from surprise costs than any sales pitch ever could.
Every Wellborn part we install is backed by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it isn’t done right, we make it right. The manufacturer’s warranty on Wellborn cabinetry stays with the product, and our workmanship warranty stays with the install.
What Drives the Price
- Whether the Wellborn series is current production or discontinued, discontinued doors need machining for aftermarket matches
- Finish matching on older vanities, which sometimes means refinishing the whole box, not just one door
- The condition of the cabinet box behind the failing part, water damage inside a sink base always adds scope
- Whether the bathroom needs a full gut-out or a targeted part replacement

AfterDIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things before calling. Look for the Wellborn label inside the cabinet box. Check whether the hinge cup measures 35mm or 26mm. Take a photo of the failing door or drawer from the inside and outside. Those three steps help us bring the right part the first time.
What we do not recommend is trying to replace Wellborn hinges, glides, or door fronts yourself unless you have the exact part and a cabinet-drilling jig. Wellborn’s door fronts are precision bored, and a hand-drilled replacement that’s off by one millimeter will leave the door hanging crooked forever. We have had more than a few Ventura customers bring us a vanity after a neighbor “fixed” a hinge, and the repair cost more than the original part would have. If you’re not sure, call (341) 218-4316 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s a ten-minute check or a real repair.
FAQs

Wellborn bathroom cabinets last 15 to 25 years in Ventura’s coastal climate, but the soft-close mechanisms and door finishes typically need attention around the 8-to-10-year mark. The salt air and humidity near the water age hardware faster than the cabinet boxes themselves. Call (341) 218-4316 and we can tell you whether your issue is a part swap or a sign the cabinet box is reaching end of life.
Sometimes, if the damage is a bent clip or a loose mounting screw, but a snapped nylon catch inside the soft-close mechanism cannot be repaired and needs a new glide. The glide itself is a $25 to $80 part depending on the drawer width, and installation usually takes under an hour. We’ll match the exact glide to your Wellborn model rather than forcing a generic hardware store fit.
A hinge or drawer glide replacement takes 45 minutes to an hour. A full vanity replacement takes one day. A complete Wellborn bathroom remodel in Ventura takes two to four weeks, depending on plumbing, tile, and countertop sequencing. The written schedule comes with the written price, and it includes which hours will be quiet hours for napping children.
We stock common Wellborn hinges, glides, and drawer slides on the truck, and we order finish-matched door fronts with a typical one-week turnaround. Discontinued parts are handled case by case, and we’ll machine a quality aftermarket match when Wellborn has retired the line. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll check our inventory while you’re on the phone.
Elmstead Remodeling Ventura is an independent remodeling contractor and is not affiliated with Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. We install Wellborn products and source OEM and quality aftermarket parts for Wellborn bathroom cabinetry.
