American Standard Kitchen Remodeling: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
If you have American Standard fixtures or fittings in your Ventura kitchen and the room itself needs work, we install and build around them correctly. A full kitchen remodel in Ventura typically runs $14,000 – $45,000, and we stock or can source American Standard-compatible components from our local supply partners. Most Ventura homeowners call us after living with a kitchen that doesn’t function: a sink rim that leaks into the cabinet below, a faucet that drips no matter how hard you crank the handle, or cabinets that were never built to hold up to coastal humidity.
We are an independent remodeling contractor, not affiliated with American Standard. What we know is how their fixtures fit into a working kitchen in this climate, and how to replace or rebuild around them without the job stalling on a missing adapter or an odd valve size.
Which American Standard Models This Applies To

American Standard kitchen faucets and sinks split into a few lines Ventura homeowners commonly have: the Colony, Studio, and Pekoe faucet series, and the Americast and Quince sink lines. The compatibility gotcha most people don’t know is that Colony faucets use a proprietary cartridge (the 994062 or 994067 depending on the year) that big-box stores rarely stock on the shelf in Ventura. If your faucet predates 2015, it’s likely the older cartridge style, and buying the wrong one wastes a trip and a day.
For sinks, Americast is not stainless steel and not cast iron. It’s a molded composite with a porcelain finish, and it uses a different mounting clip set than a standard drop-in sink. If you’re replacing the countertop and keeping the sink, we note the sink model and clip style before the counters are templated. We also stock or order American Standard-specific supply lines and mounting hardware. Aftermarket supply lines work fine when they’re the right length and thread pattern, but for any internal faucet part we order OEM because the tolerances matter and aftermarket cartridges often fail within a year in Ventura’s hard water.

Signs Your American Standard Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Water under the sink that comes back after you dry it. The most common cause with American Standard faucets is a worn cartridge o-ring or a loose supply connection where hard-water mineral buildup has compromised the seal. Left alone, the cabinet floor rots from the inside out.
- A faucet that drips after you shut it off, even slowly. That’s usually a failing ceramic disc or cartridge seat, and with Ventura’s mineral-heavy water it happens faster than the manufacturer’s average lifespan. The drip is the symptom; the cause is calcium scoring on the internal seals.
- Sink rim lifting at one corner. This happens often with Americast sinks installed before current clip standards. The composite material expands and contracts slightly with Ventura’s temperature swings, and an older clip set eventually lets go.
- Cabinet doors that no longer close square. This is less about the American Standard products and more about the kitchen around them. Coastal moisture works on cabinet frames over years, and doors start rubbing. By the time it’s visible, the cabinet boxes have usually swelled.
- Counter seams pulling apart near the sink. If a previous remodel didn’t account for the Americast sink’s weight and mounting style, the counter bears load it wasn’t designed for, and seams fail early.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full kitchen remodel in Ventura runs $14,000 – $45,000 depending on the footprint, the cabinet line, the countertop material, and how much of the existing plumbing and electrical we’re reworking. If your American Standard faucet or sink is the only thing failing, a swap runs $400 – $1,800 for the part plus labor, which we fold into a written line-item quote before any work starts. Countertop installation around an existing Americast sink runs $2,000 – $6,500, and cabinet installation $4,000 – $13,000.
What’s always included: the part itself (OEM where it matters), all mounting hardware, supply lines, disposal reconnection if applicable, haul-away of the old fixture, and a written price before the first tool comes off the truck. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the finished work, so if something is not right after the job, we make it right. Every project also carries the Cedarwell Care Promise: drop cloths on the floors, shoe covers at the door, a photo of the clean-up before we leave, and quiet tools during family rest hours where possible.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look under the sink with a flashlight to find where water is actually coming from, note the model number printed on the faucet or sink, and snap photos of the supply lines and shut-off valves. That tells us a lot before we even arrive.
What you should not do is try to replace an American Standard cartridge without the exact part number, or attempt a sink unmount if the countertop is stone. The cartridge swap goes wrong fast when hard-water buildup holds the retaining nut in place, and a cracked Americast sink edge is a cleanup job you don’t want. If water has been leaking into the cabinet for more than a few weeks, the cabinet floor may need to be assessed before any new fixture goes in. That’s where it’s worth a call to (341) 218-4316. We’ll give you a straight answer and a written price.
FAQs

An American Standard kitchen faucet in Ventura typically lasts 8 – 12 years before the cartridge or seals wear out, though hard water can shorten that to 5 – 7 years without a water softener. The ceramic disc cartridges in newer Colony and Pekoe models hold up longer than the older rubber-seat designs. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll identify your model’s expected lifespan based on its year.
Yes, most American Standard faucets can be repaired with an OEM cartridge replacement, and the repair usually costs far less than a new faucet. The catch is matching the exact cartridge to your model year, which is where we see the most ordering mistakes. Call us with the model number and we’ll confirm the correct part.
Most faucet or sink replacements take 2 – 4 hours if the cabinet base is sound and the shut-off valves work. If the cabinet floor has water damage or the valves need replacing, plan for a half day to a full day. We confirm the timeline in writing before the job starts.
We stock common American Standard cartridges, supply lines, and mounting clips on the truck, and we can source any OEM part through our local Ventura supply partners within one to two business days. For remodel-scale work involving other brands, we also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone products. Call (341) 218-4316 to confirm what’s on hand this week.
