IKO Kitchen Remodeling: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
We install and service kitchen remodeling projects built around IKO products, with typical full-kitchen work in Ventura running $14,000 to $45,000 depending on cabinet count, countertop square footage, and how much of the old kitchen has to come out first. Most families call us after they’ve lived with a failing IKO component for months, whether it’s a drawer front that no longer sits flush, a cabinet box that’s pulled away from the wall, or laminate surfacing that has started to peel at the seams. The part itself is rarely the whole story. What matters is whether the surrounding installation can support a proper repair or whether the failed piece is telling you something about the whole run.
Which IKO Models This Applies To
IKO manufactures a range of kitchen components, and model identification matters before any price goes on paper. The key detail to check is the cabinet box construction: IKO’s European-style frameless cabinets measure differently than their face-frame lines, and a drawer front ordered for one will not fit the other. Look for a label inside the cabinet door or on the drawer box side, typically a white sticker with a series code and a date of manufacture. If the label is missing, measure the cabinet box opening, not the door, because that’s the number the replacement part has to match. For surface laminates and edging, the color code matters as much as the size, and IKO’s older Mediterranean Oak and Blanco finishes have been reformulated over the years, so a 2015 door panel may not match a 2024 replacement even with the same part number. We stock OEM-verified parts where available and quality aftermarket equivalents when an IKO part is discontinued, and we’ll tell you which is which before you spend a dollar.

Signs Your IKO Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Drawer fronts that sag or catch on the cabinet frame. On IKO’s older drawer box designs, the bottom groove was cut shallow, so the drawer bottom drops out of its channel under load, pulling the front out of alignment. It starts as a snag and ends as a split.
- Cabinet boxes separating from the wall or from each other. In Ventura’s coastal air, the moisture cycle swells and shrinks the box sides. If the installer used drywall screws instead of cabinet-to-cabinet connectors, the boxes work loose over a few years, and you’ll see a gap open at the seam.
- Laminate edges peeling at the sink base or dishwasher opening. Water finds the edge first. IKO’s pre-2018 edge banding used a thinner glue line that breaks down with repeated heat and humidity, and the sink cabinet is always the first to show it.
- Soft-close hinges that no longer hold or close with a snap. The hinge cup wears, but more often the mounting plate has pulled loose from the box side because the screw holes were over-torqued at install. You can’t fix that by tightening the screw again.
- Countertop seams that have opened or lipped. If the IKO counter was cut and seamed on a cold morning in Ventura and the house has since gone through a summer heat cycle, the seam can open enough to catch a fingernail. That’s a material movement issue, not a cleaning issue.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Ventura, a full IKO kitchen remodel runs $14,000 to $45,000. A smaller galley kitchen with stock IKO-compatible cabinets and a laminate top starts around $14,000, while a larger footprint with custom cabinet configurations, stone or quartz counters, a tiled backsplash, and an island pushes toward the $45,000 end. A single-cabinet repair or drawer-front replacement is a much smaller job, usually a few hundred dollars in parts plus our labor minimum. Every quote includes the written price before work starts, the drop cloths and shoe covers, and the photo of the clean-up before the crew leaves. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work, stamped on the project, not buried in fine print. If a hinge loosens eight months after we leave, we come back and make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
Some things you can safely check yourself. A drawer front that’s sagging can sometimes be re-seated if the box itself is sound and the problem is just a slipped bottom panel, though you’ll want a second set of hands and a clean work surface. What you shouldn’t attempt is pulling a cabinet box off the wall, re-hanging doors on IKO’s concealed hinge system, or re-seaming a countertop. A cabinet that’s come loose from the wall carries real weight, and if it lets go while you’re underneath it, you’re in the ER. Same goes for working above your head with a drill on old mounting plates. For anything structural or anything you’re not certain about, call us at (341) 218-4316. FAQs

Twenty to twenty-five years is realistic for well-installed IKO cabinet boxes in Ventura’s coastal climate, but hinges, drawer slides, and edge banding typically need attention at the ten-to-fifteen-year mark. The boxes outlive the hardware. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense or whether you’re better off replacing the run.
A split drawer front can sometimes be glued and clamped if the split is clean and the laminate hasn’t lifted, but a delaminated front or one with worn hinge cups is a replacement job. We’ll look at the actual part and tell you which path costs less. Estimates are free.
A full kitchen remodel in Ventura typically takes four to eight weeks from first day of demo to final clean-up, depending on cabinet lead times and countertop fabrication. A single-cabinet repair or drawer-front replacement can often be done in one visit. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll give you a written schedule with quiet hours noted.
We stock common IKO-compatible hinges, drawer slides, and edge banding on our trucks for same-trip repairs, and we order model-specific panels and boxes direct with a lead time we confirm in writing before you pay. We also handle parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone kitchens. Call (341) 218-4316 and ask what we have on the truck.
