Belgard Roofing: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
If you have a Belgard roof system in Ventura and a part has failed, here’s the short version: we stock Belgard-compatible roofing components on our trucks, typical installed replacement work runs $400 – $1,800 depending on what failed, and we can usually get a technician to your home the same week you call. Most Ventura homeowners discover the problem the same way – a brown stain on the ceiling after a December rain, a rattle they hear when the wind kicks up off the Pacific, or a tile that slid out of place and landed in the yard. The fix is usually faster than people expect, but matching the part correctly matters more than speed.
We carry Belgard-compatible roofing parts for Ventura homes, and we also keep parts for other brands we regularly service – KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone among them – because homeowners shouldn’t have to chase down three vendors to get one roof fixed. Call (341) 218-4316 and a live person answers. We’ll get your part matched and get the work scheduled.
Which Belgard Models This Applies To

Belgard’s roofing line spans concrete roof tiles, ridge caps, hip starters, and the underlayment accessories that go with them. The part you need depends on which Belgard profile was installed – the company has produced several tile shapes over the years, and a tile from one series won’t always interlock with a tile from another. If you still have the original paperwork from when the roof went on, the series name is on it. If not, look at the underside of a loose tile: Belgard stamps a mold code there, usually a two-letter prefix followed by a number.
One compatibility gotcha we see in Ventura regularly: Belgard tiles made before roughly 2015 used a slightly different nose profile than current production. A newer tile placed next to an older one will sit visibly proud by about an eighth of an inch, which catches rain and wind. When we match older roofs, we source from aftermarket suppliers who replicate that earlier profile, or we pull from reclaimed stock. We’ll tell you which approach makes sense for your house before we write anything down. We are an independent service provider, not a Belgard company – which means we can also recommend an aftermarket equivalent when it genuinely fits better than an OEM part.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Belgard Roofing Is Failing
- Stained ceiling or wall after rain. Water is getting past the underlayment, usually where a tile cracked and shifted or where flashing at a vent or chimney pulled loose. In Ventura’s winter rain pattern, this shows up days after a storm, not during it.
- Tiles in the yard or gutter. Belgard tiles are heavy and they don’t just fall – something underneath moved. Most often the batten cracked, or a nail backed out, and wind did the rest.
- Rattling or clicking during Santa Ana winds. That’s a tile that’s no longer locked into its neighbors. It’s still on the roof, but it’s slapping against the tile below it, and every wind event is working it looser.
- Visible black felt under an exposed area. The underlayment is showing, and while underlayment is a secondary barrier, in Ventura’s UV exposure it degrades fast once it sees sun. Bare felt means the tile coverage has failed.
- Ridge cap pieces out of line. The caps at your roof’s peak take the most direct wind. When mortar has crumbled or the mechanical fixings loosened, the line visibly wanders, and that’s an open seam for driven rain.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Ventura homes, a Belgard roof repair runs between $400 and $1,800 depending on what failed. A single cracked or displaced tile with the batten intact is the low end of that range. Mid-range jobs, typically $900 – $1,200, involve multiple tiles, new battens, and patch underlayment. The high end is a ridge cap rebuild or replacing a run of tiles around a chimney or sidewall intersection, where the flashing has to come out and go back in properly.
Every written price we give includes the parts, the labor, the disposal of anything we remove, and the warranty on our work – backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a tile we set comes loose inside a year, we return and fix it. Your written quote is the number you pay, before the work starts, with drop cloths down and shoe covers at the door. We do not hand over a price and then add a surprise line item later. That’s the whole point of putting it in writing.
DIY or Call Us?
What you can safely do yourself: take photos of the damage from the ground, check your gutters for tile fragments, and note which wall or ceiling areas look wet inside. That information speeds up the matching process and keeps our technician’s time focused.
What we’d ask you not to do: climb onto a Belgard tile roof. Roof work carries real fall risk, and walking on tile without knowing which ones are supported will crack tiles that were perfectly fine. We have had to repair additional damage more than once because a well-meaning homeowner went up for a look and put a foot through a tile valley. Our technicians wear fall protection, follow the same protocol on every roof, and know where to stand. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll send someone who does this every week in Ventura.
FAQs

Belgard concrete roof tiles can last 40 to 50 years in Ventura, though the underlayment beneath them typically needs replacement at the 25-to-30-year mark. Salt air from the coast accelerates metal flashing corrosion, so homes near the water often need flashing work before tiles ever fail. Call (341) 218-4316 for an inspection of your specific roof.
Almost always no. Concrete tile doesn’t patch cleanly – any crack that runs through the tile means water will find it eventually, and in Ventura’s wet winters that “eventually” is one storm away. Replacement with a correctly matched tile is the only repair we stand behind.
Most single-tile or small-run replacements are done in under three hours from setup to clean-up. A ridge cap rebuild or chimney flashing replacement can take a full day because of the mechanical fixings and mortar work involved.
We keep common Belgard tile profiles, ridge caps, battens, and underlayment patches on our service trucks, so many Ventura repairs are completed in one visit. For specific older profiles or color matches, we may need a day or two to pull the right pieces from our suppliers.
