CertainTeed Driveway & Pavers: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
We stock and install CertainTeed-compatible driveway pavers and retaining paver systems throughout Ventura, with most driveway paver installations running between $7,000 and $18,000 depending on square footage, base preparation, and access. If you’ve got a cracked paver, a sinking section, or a failed edge restraint, we can usually source the matching CertainTeed product within a few business days and have your driveway or patio functioning again quickly. Most Ventura owners discover something’s wrong after a rain: water pools where it didn’t before, or a paver shifts underfoot near the driveway apron where the car turns in.
Which CertainTeed Models This Applies To

CertainTeed’s paver and driveway product lines split into two broad categories: interlocking concrete pavers (sold under names like Courtstone, Brussels Block, and Lafitt) and segmental retaining wall systems used to terrace sloped Ventura lots before pavers go down. The compatibility gotcha most owners run into is color-lot matching. CertainTeed pavers are manufactured in color batches, and a paver bought in 2019 will not be a perfect match to one manufactured in 2025, even if it’s technically the same product code. When we replace a section, we pull the existing paver, check the underside for the stamped product identifier, and order from the same product family. Where a true match isn’t possible, we’ll tell you before any work starts and lay out alternatives, including blending the new pavers across a wider area so the transition isn’t a visible stripe.
We’re an independent Ventura contractor, not a CertainTeed dealer or affiliated entity, but we install their pavers regularly and keep relationships with local Ventura County supply yards that stock current CertainTeed lines. For OEM versus aftermarket: CertainTeed’s own pavers carry a manufacturer’s specification for compressive strength and freeze-thaw durability that aftermarket equivalents don’t always match. In Ventura’s coastal air, the bigger issue isn’t freeze-thaw, it’s efflorescence and salt exposure on driveways within a couple miles of the beach. We typically recommend staying with CertainTeed OEM pavers for driveway applications and being more flexible on patio or walkway projects where traffic loads are lighter.

Signs Your CertainTeed Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pooling in new spots after rain. This usually means the sand bedding or base material has started eroding underneath, often because an edge restraint failed and the pavers are slowly drifting. Left alone, the low spot gets worse with every rainy season.
- A paver that rocks or shifts when you step on it. One rocking paver means the sand joint below it has washed out. Several rocking pavers in one area usually points to a base compaction problem from the original install, and the fix is pulling that section, re-compacting, and re-setting the pavers.
- Cracks running through multiple pavers in a line. This typically follows a seam in the base material or a tree root working upward from a nearby planter. Ventura’s eucalyptus and ficus roots are aggressive, and they’ll find paver joints faster than most owners expect.
- Weeds or ants pushing up between joints. It looks cosmetic, but it tells you the joint sand is gone and the pavers have lost their interlock. Ants are particularly common in Ventura’s sandy soils near the hillsides and will excavate joint sand by the pound.
- Edge pavers tilting outward along the driveway’s outside border. This is the classic edge-restraint failure. Once the plastic or aluminum edge spikes let go, the entire field can start to creep, and what began as one tilted paver becomes a wavy driveway edge within two seasons.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a paver driveway in Ventura, the full installed range runs $7,000 to $18,000. A partial repair like re-setting a failing section, replacing a color-matched paver field, or rebuilding an edge restraint typically falls between $1,500 and $6,000 depending on how many square feet we’re lifting and re-compacting. What drives the range: the depth of the base material we uncover, whether the existing base is salvageable, drainage needs specific to your lot, and how much of the CertainTeed product has to be special-ordered versus what we can pull from local Ventura County stock. Every project gets a written price before any pavers move, and that number includes all labor, materials, base work, haul-away of old material, and the final sanding and compaction. We stand behind the work with the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right after the job is complete, we come back and make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
There are a few things a Ventura owner can safely check without touching a tool: walk the driveway after a rain and mark the pooling spots with chalk, check edge restraints for visible separation, and look for ant mounds along the joints. What we’d caution against is attempting to pull and re-set pavers yourself, especially on a driveway. The base work underneath is where the real repair happens, and without re-compacting to the correct density, you’ll have the same failure again within a year. Driveway pavers also carry vehicle loads, and a poorly re-set section can shift under a car’s turning radius, which turns a cosmetic fix into a trip hazard. If you’re seeing any of the symptoms above, call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll send someone out to look. The estimate is free, and you’ll have a written number before you decide anything.
FAQs

With a properly compacted base and intact edge restraints, CertainTeed concrete pavers in Ventura typically last 25 to 40 years on a residential driveway, though the color will fade gradually from UV exposure and coastal salt air. The base below the pavers usually fails before the pavers themselves do, which is why we spend more time on base preparation than anything else on install day.
A single cracked paver can almost always be replaced with a new paver from the same CertainTeed product line, though the color match won’t be perfect if the original batch is several years old. If multiple pavers in one area are cracking, the problem is usually structural, not the pavers, and replacement is the honest fix. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll tell you which situation you’re in.
A typical section repair, where we lift, re-base, and re-set part of a driveway, takes one to two days for most Ventura homes. A full paver driveway replacement usually runs four to six working days, including base removal, compaction, laying, and final sanding. We’ll give you the timeline in writing with your price, before the first paver is pulled.
We keep common CertainTeed paver profiles in stock with our local Ventura County supply partners for quick-turn repairs, and we special-order specific colors or less common product lines as needed. If we have to order, you’ll know the lead time with your written estimate, and it’s usually under a week for current CertainTeed lines. We also stock parts and materials for related brands including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for the indoor side of a project.
