Delta Driveway & Pavers: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
A paver driveway built with Delta-spec materials in Ventura typically costs $7,000 to $18,000 installed, and most paver repairs we handle run $400 to $2,500 depending on how many units have shifted, cracked, or sunk. We stock common Delta-compatible paver sizes and edge restraints on our trucks, so a small repair is often done in a single visit. Most Ventura homeowners discover a failing paver section the slow way: a low spot collects water after rain, a paver rocks underfoot near the garage apron, or the edge course starts pulling away from the lawn and exposing the sand base. By the time it’s visible, the base has usually been washing out for months.
Which Delta Models This Applies To
Delta driveway and paver systems aren’t one product line. The name shows up on three different things in Ventura yards: modular concrete paver units (typically 60mm thickness for driveways, 80mm for commercial apron ratings), plastic edge restraints and spike systems, and the polymeric sand that locks the joints. If you’re holding a cracked paver, the model stamp is usually on the underside or the side face. The edge restraint will have a profile number molded into it. The sand won’t tell you anything except by color. Before replacing a paver, measure the thickness, not just the length and width. A 60mm paver cannot be swapped for a 40mm patio unit without redoing the base, and we’ve seen that mismatch cause a depression within one wet season. On OEM versus aftermarket: Delta-branded pavers are made in color batches, and a replacement from a different batch will not match. For an older driveway, a quality aftermarket paver that matches your current color and meets the same 60mm spec is usually the smarter spend. Elmstead Remodeling Ventura is an independent contractor, not affiliated with Delta, but we match specs carefully so the replacement wears at the same rate as the field.

Signs Your Delta Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- A paver rocks or tips underfoot. That means the bedding sand has washed out underneath it, usually from a joint that lost its polymeric sand and let water channel down.
- Low spots hold water after a light rain. Ventura’s winter rains expose base compaction problems fast. Water pooling in one section means the base settled there, and it will keep settling until the base is corrected.
- The edge course is spreading toward the lawn or flower bed. The edge restraint has failed or was never installed, and the whole field is slowly walking outward under tire load.
- Joint sand is gone and weeds are rooting between pavers. Once joints are open, water gets under the pavers every time it rains or the sprinklers run, and the freeze-thaw cycle isn’t what does the damage in Ventura. It’s the water moving the sand.
- Hairline cracks across multiple pavers in a line. That’s a base problem, not a paver problem. Replacing the cracked units without fixing the base gets you new pavers that crack the same way within a year.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a paver driveway in Ventura, full installation runs $7,000 to $18,000, and a driveway replacement sits at $5,000 to $14,000 depending on square footage, access, and whether the old base can be reused. Small paver repairs, section releveling, or edge restraint replacement run $400 to $2,500. The range moves on a few things: how many pavers are damaged, whether the base needs recompacting, whether we’re matching an unusual color or size, and how close the section is to the street or a retaining wall. Every quote is a written price before any work starts, and it lists the paver count, the base work, the sand, and the labor as separate lines. We pull no permits for a standard repair, but if the driveway apron crosses the sidewalk in the city of Ventura, we’ll tell you before we start what the city asks for. The workmanship on paver repairs is covered under our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if a repaired section settles or shifts within the year, we come back and make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
What an owner can safely check: whether a single paver has moved, whether the joint sand is thin, whether the edge restraint is loose. Those are look-and-listen items that help you describe the problem over the phone. What goes wrong in DIY paver work is the base. Lifting a paver, adding sand, and tapping it back down with a mallet feels like a fix, but the paver will settle again because the base under it hasn’t changed. And removing a paver near the edge of a driveway can be genuinely dangerous if you don’t stabilize the surrounding field first. The units interlock; pull one wrong and a section can shift. If the problem is more than one or two pavers, call (341) 218-4316 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s a one-visit repair or a base job, and the estimate is free.
FAQs

Properly installed 60mm concrete pavers on a compacted base will typically last 25 to 40 years in Ventura’s climate. What shortens that life here is water intrusion through open joints, not the sun, so the polymeric sand maintenance matter more than most owners expect. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll tell you if your joints are due for re-sanding.
A hairline crack in a single paver can sometimes be stabilized with joint sand and left alone, but a crack that runs through the paver usually means the unit has lost structural integrity and should be swapped. Replacing one paver is a fast, inexpensive fix. Call (341) 218-4316 for an exact quote after we see a photo.
Most single-paver replacements and small section releveling jobs in Ventura are done in two to four hours, including clean-up. A full edge restraint replacement around a standard two-car driveway is usually a full day. Call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll give you a written time estimate with the price.
We carry common 60mm concrete paver sizes and edge restraints on our trucks, plus polymeric sand in the standard Ventura gray and tan tones. If your color is unusual or from an older batch, we’ll source a match and schedule the repair once it’s in hand. Call (341) 218-4316 with a photo and measurements, and we’ll confirm what we have before we schedule.
Call (341) 218-4316 for a free estimate on your Delta driveway or paver repair in Ventura. We’ll put the price in writing before the first board moves, and we’ll leave the driveway looking like we were never there except for the part that’s actually fixed.
