Tremron Kitchen Remodeling: The Ventura Owner’s Guide
If you have a Tremron product in your Ventura kitchen and something has failed, you’re likely looking at a full kitchen remodeling project rather than a single-part swap. A Tremron kitchen remodel in Ventura typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on the size of the kitchen, the materials you choose, and how much of the existing structure needs to come out. Most Ventura homeowners discover the problem the same way: a cabinet face has swollen from moisture, a countertop seam has separated near the sink, or the finish on a Tremron surface has worn through after years of daily use. This page walks you through what we know about Tremron kitchen systems, what fails first, and what it costs to make it right.
We’re Elmstead Remodeling Ventura, a Cedarwell company. We’re an independent remodeling contractor serving Ventura and the surrounding area. We are not affiliated with Tremron, but we work on Tremron kitchens regularly and know their products well enough to give you straight answers.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron has manufactured kitchen surface and cabinet materials across several product lines over the years, and the compatibility picture is not always obvious from the outside. The most common Tremron kitchens we see in Ventura homes fall into two groups: the older laminate-surface cabinet systems from the 1990s and early 2000s, and the newer solid-surface and quartz-blend countertop lines that came after. The model identifying information is usually printed on a label inside a lower cabinet door or on the underside of a countertop overhang near the sink base.
The compatibility gotcha most Ventura homeowners run into is this: Tremron’s older cabinet boxes were built in 3-inch increments, and the company’s newer door-and-drawer fronts are not retrofittable onto those older boxes. You either replace the entire cabinet run or you keep the old boxes and have a cabinetmaker build custom faces to match. That decision alone can move your project cost by several thousand dollars. We carry the measurements and spec sheets for the most common Tremron kitchen layouts, and we can usually tell you within one site visit whether your kitchen is a partial-update candidate or a full replacement.
For the record, we also work with KraftMaid and Wellborn cabinet lines, and Cambria and Silestone countertop materials. If your Tremron kitchen turns out to be a hybrid, we can source what matches.

Signs Your Tremron Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Swollen or de-laminating cabinet faces near the sink or dishwasher. This is the most common Tremron failure we see in Ventura. The coastal humidity, combined with heat cycling from the dishwasher vent, causes the laminate edge banding to lift. Once moisture gets behind the edge, the particleboard core swells and the front is done.
- Countertop seam separation at the sink run. Tremron’s earlier solid-surface products were installed with two-part adhesive seams. In Ventura’s temperature swings, those seams can fail after 10 to 15 years, especially on runs longer than 8 feet. Water gets in, the seam darkens, and the countertop needs replacement, not patching.
- Drawer glides that bind, stick, or fall out of alignment. The original Tremron hardware on older kitchens was not rated for the weight of a full pots-and-pans drawer. When the nylon rollers wear flat, the drawer rides on the cabinet frame itself, gouging the wood. We see this in roughly a third of older Tremron kitchens we inspect.
- Finish wear through to the substrate on high-contact surfaces. The cabinet fronts around the sink, the drawer fronts below the cooktop, and the corners of the island take the brunt. Once the wear layer is gone, there’s nothing to refinish. The veneer is the finish.
- Sagging cabinet shelves or a center stile pulling away from the face frame. Tremron’s stock shelving was often 5/8-inch particleboard. Under the weight of canned goods or a heavy mixer, that shelf bows over time. By the time the homeowner notices, the shelf is usually cracked and the center stile is loose at the top.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

We give every Ventura homeowner a written price before any work starts. That price covers the demolition of the existing Tremron kitchen, the new cabinets and countertops, the plumbing and electrical work needed to bring the sink and appliance lines up to current code, the installation labor, and the clean-up. No estimates that grow after the crew arrives.
Here’s how the numbers break down for a Tremron kitchen replacement in Ventura:
- Full kitchen remodel: $14,000 – $45,000
- Small kitchen remodel: $9,000 – $20,000
- Cabinet installation only: $4,000 – $13,000
- Countertop installation only: $2,000 – $6,500
- Backsplash installation: $800 – $2,500
- Kitchen island installation: $3,000 – $10,000
What drives the range is the size of the kitchen, whether you’re replacing the cabinet boxes or just the doors and drawer fronts, and the countertop material you choose. A laminate countertop replacement on a small Tremron kitchen will land on the low end. A full kitchen with Cambria or Silestone countertops, new KraftMaid cabinets, and a new island will land on the high end. Every project carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
There are things worth checking yourself, and there are things worth leaving on the shelf. You can pull a lower drawer out and look at the manufacturer’s label inside the cabinet box. You can measure your countertop overhang and your cabinet widths so you have the numbers ready when you call. You can take photos of the failing areas so the first conversation is grounded in what’s actually there.
What we don’t recommend is pulling apart Tremron cabinetry on your own, especially around plumbing. The older sink-base cabinets often hide water damage inside the frame, and once you release the countertop from the base, you’re committed. We’ve walked into Ventura kitchens where a homeowner started a cabinet replacement on Saturday morning and had a disconnected sink line and a cracked countertop by Saturday afternoon. The repair ended up costing more than the original project would have. Our crew handles demolition with drop cloths on the floors, shoe covers at the door, and quiet tools during children’s sleep hours. That’s the Cedarwell Care Promise, and it’s how we leave every Ventura home. If you’d rather skip the guesswork, call (341) 218-4316 and we’ll schedule a walkthrough.
FAQs

Most Tremron kitchens we see in Ventura last 15 to 20 years before the cabinet finishes or countertop seams start failing. The coastal humidity shortens the lifespan of laminate edge banding, and kitchens within a few blocks of the water tend to show moisture-related wear sooner than those inland. If your Tremron kitchen is approaching that age and showing any of the signs above, replacement is usually more cost-effective than patching.
It depends on what failed. A single cabinet face in a newer Tremron kitchen can sometimes be matched and replaced by a cabinet refinisher. But when the cabinet boxes themselves are swollen, the shelf supports are cracked, or the countertop seams have separated, you’re better off replacing the run than chasing individual fixes. Every repair on a 20-year-old kitchen tends to reveal two more things that are about to go. Call (341) 218-4316 and we can tell you honestly which path makes sense after a site visit.
A full kitchen remodel in Ventura typically takes 4 to 8 weeks from demo to final walkthrough, depending on cabinet lead times and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. We put the schedule in writing before the first board moves, including the quiet hours and the clean-up plan. You’ll know what’s happening in your kitchen on any given week.
We don’t stock Tremron parts on a shelf. Tremron’s kitchen product lines have been discontinued at retail for years, and any remaining inventory is scattered across liquidators. What we do is custom-build or source exact-fit replacements through our cabinet and countertop partners, so the finished kitchen fits your space. The written quote covers everything, including the demo and the haul-away of the old Tremron materials.
