Meet the Ventura Team Behind Elmstead Remodeling Ventura
Most remodeling companies show you a finished photo and a smiling stock image. We’d rather show you who actually walks through your door. The Ventura crew at Elmstead Remodeling is small on purpose, so the person who measures your kitchen is the same person who builds it. We work in Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, and up through Ojai, and we hire people who treat a mid-century bungalow off Main Street with the same care as a new build up in the hills. These are the people you’ll see at your house.

Our People

Graham Stein, Owner
Graham started with a simple frustration: he kept seeing remodels where the price changed after the first week and nobody could explain why. So he built Elmstead Remodeling around a written price before any work starts, every time. He’s the one who walks your project first, measures twice, and writes the scope in plain English. When he’s not on site or answering the phone, he’s usually making the rounds with the Ventura crew to check the drop cloths are down and the day’s plan makes sense. Graham lives in Ventura and still shows up to every walkthrough himself.
Maria T., Lead Technician
Maria has spent fourteen years in residential construction, the last six focused on kitchen and bath remodels across Ventura County. She’s certified in Schluter waterproofing systems, which matters more than it sounds when you’re tiling a shower that has to stay dry for decades. Maria is the person who notices the small stuff, like a cabinet that sits an eighth of an inch off level before it becomes a problem. She keeps a notebook of every client’s pet names so the crew knows who to watch for at the door.
Dan R., Senior Installer
Dan comes from a finish carpentry background and handles most of the cabinet and trim work on our Ventura projects. He’s installed KraftMaid and Wellborn cabinetry in homes from Midtown Ventura to the east end, and he’s particular about reveals and door gaps in a way that probably annoys everyone until the kitchen is done and it looks right. Dan has two kids under five, so quiet tools during nap hours isn’t a policy to him, it’s personal. He’s the reason we schedule noisy work for the middle of the day.
Claire B., Service Coordinator
Claire is the voice on the phone when you call Elmstead Remodeling Ventura. She’s been coordinating residential projects in the area for nine years and knows the Ventura permit office well enough to flag a paperwork problem before it delays your start date. Claire keeps the schedule honest, confirms material deliveries before the crew arrives, and makes sure you get photos of the clean-up before we leave each day. Outside of work she’s usually at the beach with her dog, which is why she understands the value of pet-safe product choices.
Leo M., Apprentice
Leo joined the crew two years ago and has been learning cabinetry, tile, and rough framing under Maria and Dan. He’s the one who sets up the shoe covers at the door, lays the drop cloths, and makes sure the workspace is clean before anyone starts cutting. Leo grew up in Oxnard and takes the bus to job sites, so he’s never late. He asks a lot of questions, which we’d rather have than someone who pretends to know and learns the hard way on your wall.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Elmstead Remodeling project runs on the same set of promises, whether you’re in Ventura, Oxnard, or anywhere else across the service area. Shoe covers go on at the door. Drop cloths go down on the floors before any tools come out. The written price comes before any work starts, not after. We ask before we move a lamp or a piece of furniture. Quiet tools during family rest hours wherever possible, pet-safe products where there’s a choice. And before the crew leaves, you get a photo of the clean-up. Not as a courtesy, but as proof. It’s how every location operates, and it’s what the 365-Day Done Right Promise is built on. If something isn’t done right, we make it right.
